Brief Description of Education & Experience
Taylor W. Brown (BA Anthropology/Archaeology from Saint Mary's College of California, MA Historical Archaeology from University of West Florida) has extensive field experience, having excavated on land and underwater from Virginia to the Caribbean. Her former employers include the St. Augustine Lighthouse Archaeological Maritime Program, James Madison's Montpelier, the Smith's Island Archaeology Project, and the Florida Public Archaeology Network. Her master's thesis work focused on identifying Prohibition-Era sites in Pensacola, FL, using GIS predictive modeling and collections based research. She now focuses on curation and collections management, working as a Lab Manager with the Veteran's Curation Program in Augusta, GA. At the center of all her work is a passion for public archaeology.
