Brief Description of Education & Experience
I am an independent archaeologist, cultural resource specialist and heritage educator in Hong Kong and I have over 10 years of experience in archaeology and historic preservation in Hong Kong and the United States.
I found Hong Kong Archaeology Consultant Limited with civil engineering partners in 2014 and involved in several archaeological investigations and built heritage preservation projects in the rural area of New Territories for the Drainage Services Department. Some notable finds include the discovery of unrecorded kilns and clay washing basin (淘洗池) in Wun Yiu Village (Declared Monument, a Ming-Qing period blue-and-white porcelain kiln site in Tai Po).
In 2021, I team up with heritage historian, built heritage specialist, structural engineer and building surveyor to start a new consultancy, ACE Heritage Consultancy (Hong Kong) Limited, to provide a wider range of heritage consultancy services. In addition, I establish the Association of History and Archaeology Limited, aiming to promote the professionalism of the heritage preservation sector and provide some heritage education program in Hong Kong.
Beside of the professional consultancy services, I also carry out the duties of public archaeology to promote heritage preservation and arouse the public awareness in Hong Kong archaeology by teaching courses in colleges, giving talks in schools, offering guided tour in archaeological and historic sites, etc.
I obtained the qualification as a Registered Professional Archaeologist under the Register of Professional Archaeologists in the United States, and I am familiar with the archaeological filed practice, standards and requirements in Hong Kong
